Commodity Leader

We are looking for a resource to be placed within the Purchasing Department of CFT Group in the role of Commodity Leader. Following an appropriate period of shadowing, the identified resource will be responsible for studying and monitoring market trends, solving potential supply chain problems, and looking for continuous savings opportunities.


Tasks

  • Ensure the operation of production units by ensuring the procurement of direct production materials for assigned businesses/projects at the most favorable prices through careful market analysis;
  • Detect supply needs of production units, working with various functions to define quantities, technical characteristics and delivery times;
  • Support functions in resolving supply issues for assigned businesses/projects;
  • Provide for the development of the supplier base, through the analysis of markets (domestic and international) in order to search for more favorable supply opportunities;
  • Perform data analysis and researches and selects new suppliers by evaluating their capacity, delivery reliability, production characteristics and cost;
  • Prepare and conduct supplier negotiations, using appropriate communication and argumentation techniques, adopting proper behavior and ensuring business advantage;
  • Ensure contractual financial fulfillments;
  • Responsible for interfacing with ATS Global Procurement colleagues to keep updated list of saving projects, and implement globally decided purchasing strategies in the Business Unit;
  • Responsible for economic (PPV, Project Saving), On-Time and Quality targets for the assigned perimeter of Commodity Categories & Suppliers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Economics;
  • Proven experience of 3-5 years in the role in companies operating in international markets;
  • Good knowledge of industrial production processes;
  • Solid knowledge of cost drivers that influence Commodity price trends;
  • Excellent negotiation skills and ability to communicate effectively with suppliers;
  • Analytical and organizational skills;
  • Excellent knowledge of the English language.
