NC Programmer/CAD-CAM Programmer
We are looking for a professional to join the Manufacturing Engineering department of CFT Fabrication in the role of NC Programmer. This position will be responsible for CAD-CAM programming for the machining of metal components with CNC machining centers.
CFT Fabrication is the manufacturing division of CFT Spa and is responsible for the development and manufacture of strategic and higher-tech components. The company is part of an international group and aims to use state-of-the-art manufacturing processes through the use of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma techniques to ensure efficiency and quality.
NC Programmer/CAD-CAM Programmer
Tasks
- Deal with make or buy assessments based on the technologies needed to manufacture the component, available technologies, and workload;
- Define the machining process, from the choice of raw material to the process steps required to produce the finished part. Includes selection of machining centers, definition of set up and machining times-all information will be uploaded to the SAP management system;
- Develop the numerical control program and is responsible for selecting the optimal tools for fabrication;
- Support operators in the initial implementation phase and collaborates in the set up and optimization of the production process;
- Identify critical processing steps and, in collaboration with the quality department and engineering department, actions to mitigate execution risks ensuring a robust manufacturing process;
- Support Performance Variance Analysis, performing checks after task execution and monitoring times and any quality issues during and after execution to understand if the assumed manufacturing process is correct or if it can be improved-daily checks between actual and planned times-root cause identification and improvement scheduling.
Qualifications
- Diploma in technical field and/or short degree in Mechanical Engineering;
- At least 3 years’ experience in CAM programmer role in the same field;
- Knowledge of the technological and mechanical characteristics of the materials used;
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes for chip removal products;
- Excellent reading of technical drawings;
- Numerical control programming of turning and milling machining: expertise and experience in turning preferred;
- Knowledge of EdgeCam preferred;
- Control methods and measurement tools.
Nice to have
- Prior experience in operating numerical control equipment;
- Knowledge and experience in applying Lean Manufacturing techniques;
- Six Sigma knowledge/certification.
