Undergraduates/Graduates in Mechanical Engineering/Manufacturing

We are looking for young talents to join the Manufacturing Engineering department of CFT Fabrication to follow the CAD-CAM programming activity for machining metal components with CNC machining centers.

CFT Fabrication is the manufacturing division of CFT Spa and is responsible for the development and manufacture of strategic and higher-tech components. The company is part of an international group and aims to use state-of-the-art manufacturing processes through the use of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma techniques to ensure efficiency and quality.


Tasks

  • Make-or-buy assessments based on the technologies needed to manufacture the part, those available, and the workload;
  • Defines the machining process, from the choice of raw material to the process steps required to produce the finished part. Includes selection of machining centers, definition of set up and machining times-all information will be uploaded to the SAP management system;
  • Develops the numerical control program and is responsible for selecting the optimal tools for fabrication;
  • Supports operators in the initial implementation phase and collaborates in the set up and optimization of the production process;
  • Identifies critical machining steps and, in collaboration with the quality department and engineering department, actions to mitigate execution risks ensuring a robust manufacturing process;
  • Supports Performance Variance Analysis, performing checks after task execution and checking times and any quality issues during and after execution to understand if the assumed production process is correct or if it can be improved — daily checks between actual and planned times — root cause identification and improvement scheduling.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Manufacturing;
  • Knowledge of technological and mechanical characteristics of materials used;
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes for chip removal products;
  • Excellent reading of technical drawing;
  • Control methods and measuring instruments;
  • Knowledge and experience in the application of Lean Manufacturing techniques;
