As a matter of fact, one of hop components, when in contact with sun rays through the glass, unchains a chemical reaction that could make the beer taste bad.<\/p>\n Moreover\u00a0aluminium<\/strong>, the material all cans are made of, is\u00a0lighter<\/strong>,\u00a0easier to transport\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0more biodegradable\u00a0<\/strong>than glass: it will decompose in 80 – 100 years, while for glass it takes a million years!<\/p>\n Success is also a matter of\u00a0marketing<\/strong>\u00a0– A classic glass bottle can be\u00a0customized\u00a0<\/strong>only on the label or on the tap of a brewpub, while the can is suited to the most pop and bizarre creations. Major industrial groups, moreover, have taken full advantage of\u00a0product placement<\/strong>: some among the most loved TV series, from\u00a0True Detective<\/em>\u00a0to\u00a0Mad Men,<\/em>\u00a0show their main characters drinking only canned beer!<\/p>\n
